Zwilling
J.A. Henckels Solingen is a name synonymous to superior cutlery
from Germany. The company was established by Johann Henkels
in 1731. Since then, Zwilling has never ceased to develop
innovative manufacturing techniques and new materials to set
their products apart from others.
LANDMARK DEVELOPMENTS:
Ice Hardening or "Friodur"
A tempering process which makes the steel used in kives and
scissors very hard. The increase in hardness results in a
sharper and longer lasting edge.
Sinter Metal Component Technology (SCT)
This method of manufacturing uses 3 different types of metal
in 1 knife. This ensures that each part of the knife uses
the most suitable steel for its purpose; no compromise. The
result is a sharper and more corrosion-resistant knife.
High Carbon Stainless Steel
This is a special alloy developed by Zwilling. It also improves
sharpness and edge retention.
Micro Serrations
Some models of scissors come with micro serrations (small
teeth) which increase the scissors cutting ability and prevents
the object to be cut from slipping.
Ergonomic
Knife Handles
Flagship knife models such as the "Twinstar" and
"5 Star" employs ergonomically shaped handles. Independent
lab tests show that it significantly reduces hand fatigue
and knife slippage.
